Welcome to Fluently Aspec!
Fluently Aspec is a social media campaign created by Patrick Bergen, an aromantic and asexual activist, creator, writer, and educator from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beginning in July of 2020, Patrick has used his voice online to raise awareness and understanding of the asexual and aromantic spectrums through his writing and videos.
On February 18, 2025, under his penname Patrick Bex, he will release his first book of poetry, Limitless: Poetry of an Aromantic & Asexual Journey — a memoir in verse traveling through his journey of self-discovery and acceptance.

In his debut poetry collection, Patrick Bex explores the vast, often misunderstood, dimensions of love, identity, and belonging. Through evocative and heartfelt verses, Bex offers a window into the experiences of those who exist beyond society’s traditional definitions of romance and sexuality.

Written and organized as a progression of his journey, Patrick Bex reflects on experiences before discovering asexuality, through stages of denial, acceptance, coming out, then repeating this process again when learning of aromanticism. It is a trial of constant growth, education, and relearning what it truly means to love.
